Today I turn 40.
As a legal scholar, I should probably note that there is no universally accepted definition of “middle age,” and any interpretation remains open to debate.
What is less debatable is how grateful I am for the people, opportunities, collaborations, and experiences that have shaped this journey so far.
Forty feels like a good milestone: enough experience to know that the best answers often begin with better questions, and enough curiosity to keep looking for them.
Thank you to everyone who has been part of the first 40 years. I look forward to what comes next.
Fortunately, unlike software, academics do not become obsolete at version 4.0.
